Ikenna Onyido. Director, Sustainable Development Solutions Network, Nigeria (SDSN-Nigeria) and Director, Centre for Sustainable Development, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria. Ikenna Onyido is a Professor of Chemistry and the Founder/Director of the Centre for Sustainable Development at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka, Nigeria, which he joined recently. From 2006 to 2011, he was Vice-Chancellor of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture in Umudike, Nigeria, where among other important achievements in institution building he turned the Universities outreach program into a platform for poverty reduction and economic empowerment of the rural communities, using principles and approaches elucidated by the Millennium Villages Project.
Professor Onyido holds a Ph.D. in Physical Organic Chemistry (1979) from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He is Fellow of the Chemical Society of Nigeria, Fellow of the World Innovation Foundation, Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science and Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences.
Labode Popoola Co-Director , Sustainable Development Solutions Network, Nigeria (SDSN-Nigeria) and the President, The West African Research and Innovation Management Association (WARIMA). He is a Professor of Forest Economics from the University of Ibadan. He has over 20 years experience as consultant and researcher in the economic and financial analyses of projects and programmes in forestry and natural resources development with the following institutions: World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF), Nairobi, Kenya where he is currently a member of West African Sub-regional Agro-forestry Training Group. He is also a consultant to the African Development Bank, FAO, World Bank, DFID, African Forest Forum (AFF), Nigeria Conservation Foundation, several government and non-governmental organizations. He is a member of the Steering Committee of the West African Research and Innovation Management Association (WARIMA), member, Association of Research Managers and Administrators (ARMA), UK and several national and international professional associations and networks. He has led several grant winning teams internationally. The most recent of these is the MacArthur-funded grant for the Masters in Development Practice Programme which won USD 900,000.00 for the University of Ibadan. A Fellow of the Forestry Association of Nigeria, Labode has edited/co-edited over 20 major publications and has about 120 publications to his credit.
Saheed Opeyemi, ADEBISI. Programme Officer, Nigeria United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (NSDSN), is a research fellow and a development practitioner with sound knowledge in crop improvement, plant molecular genetics, bioinformatics, climate change science and sustainable development. His academic and research career span over 9 years and project coordination experience of over 7 years. He has Master’s degree in Crop Protection/ Environmental Biology. He taught at Zamfara College of Arts and Science (ZACAS), Gusau, Nigeria. He has work and training experience at International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan, Nigeria. Also, he has served as facilitator with the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) national advocacy programme, and Zamfara Community Development Service (CDS), Gusau, Nigeria.
He has contributed to development of knowledge, empowerment of vulnerable groups, campaigns for conservation of biodiversity, and protection of environment and its resources for human wellbeing. He is in this regard has paper presentations and publications in journals, conference proceedings and online platforms.
